San Bernardino Peak Trail is a beautiful 8.5-mile hike located in the San Bernardino National Forest near the town of Idyllwild. At an elevation of 10,649 feet, it's the highest peak in Southern California. The well-marked trail begins at the Marion Mountain Campground and climbs steadily for 4.5 miles to the summit, with stunning views of Mt. San Jacinto and the Coachella Valley along the way.The trail is a loop and it starts right at the parking lot. San Bernardino Peak Trail  offers a lot of challenges, and you will be able to see beautiful views of Big Bear Lake, Big Bear City, and other mountains as you hike. There are two different trails that are available for this hike - an easy one that takes about 2 hours and a hard one that takes about 4 hours. The final 3 miles are very steep, but the effort is definitely worth it. If you are looking for a challenging hike, the San Bernardino Peak Trail is the perfect choice.
